SDC proudly introduces, Trip! The gentle soul with a resilient heart.

March 3rd is ” National Tripawd Awareness Day” so we thought this would be the perfect month to introduce on of our very own “Tri-Paweds”! When he found out that he was chosen, he could barely contain his excitement!

So without further Ado, everyone meet Trip!

SDC: Can you tell us a bit about your background and how you ended up at SDC?

TRIP: I’m not sure how, but I ended up alone and wandering around searching for food and trying to stay safe with a hurt leg. So many things happened to me when I was young, broken bones from too many things to try to remember, I was even shot once if you can believe that! I tried to stay away from people and dogs. They don’t always take well to injured boys like me! Then, one day, some super scary people happened along. They put this big cage looking thing out to grab me for strange experiments or some nonsense! I tried to hide and stay away, but I was so hungry. When I couldn’t resist the goodies they left anymore and walked in. Then BAM! That was it. They had me. Scared out of my mind, I was. Truly, I mean, who knows what they had planned for a guy such as myself! But in just a few days I realized that it was the BEST THING IN THE WORLD! I didn’t have to run anymore, and I got all the food I could eat. And these amazing things they call treats! Whoa, Baby! Treats are the yummiest! I got all the pets. Can’t get better than that! Well on thing can make it better! When I finally find my very own forever home! That’s when the world will be perfect for your Mr. Trip, here.

SDC: What are you looking for in your forever home? Describe your perfect family.

TRIP: Hmmm… Let’s see… I would really love a family that doesn’t take my “Tripawed” status too seriously! I love to romp and play. I love a good morning walk. I think I would even like a short hike from time to time. I may not be able to move as fast with just three legs, but I can still move! I love people, so any size family would be amazing! I love dogs, so have a canine companion to run and play with would just be the life! But honestly, I just want a family to call my own. Now that I know how fantastic it is to be with people and all those treats!

SDC: What is your favorite thing?

TRIP: I’m a bit mischievous, if I do say so myself. My foster mom keeps this basket, bucket thing will all the toys in it. My most favorite thing is taking every toy out of the basket! I haven’t quite figured out how to play with them all at once, but just give me some time. It’s my mission!

SDC: How would you describe yourself?

TRIP: I hear that there is a saying, “I’m a lover, not a fighter.” Well that describes me to a tee! Since I was rescued, I just love to love! That’s what I’m about. Give me some people and doggie friends to love, some treats, some toys and a place to play and I’m content as can be.

SDC: Tell us some unique things about yourself. What would make you stand out in the crowd?

TRIP: Well… My “Tripawed” status of course! When my new family takes me out and about, everyone will notice that! But then they will forget the main thing that makes me stand out when they see what a good boy I am! I love everybody I meet. No one can resist the Trip boy loves!

SDC: We love your name, tell us how you got the name.

TRIP: The “super scary” guy with that big cage thing named me. Not sure where he came up with the name “Trip”, but I think it’s a pretty snazzy name!

SDC: Do you have a nickname?

TRIP: Some people call me “Trip the Rip” or “Tripster”. Honestly I don’t care what you call me as long as you don’t call me late for dinner!

SDC: How old are you?

TRIP: I’m still just a young kid. About a year and a half old! Or so the doctors think. I still have super shiny teefs.

SDC: Do you like other dogs, cats or both?

TRIP: I love dogs! I don’t even bark at the neighbor dogs no matter how loud they are. I just do my thing. But cats? I’m going to go with no on the cats. I’m just not sure about those things.

SDC: Are you a bossy boy or a laid back kind of guy?

TRIP: Definitely a laid back guy! I just wanna hang out and play. I got no time for bossing anyone around. I would much rather just go with the flow and join in all the fun!

SDC: Where’s you favorite place to sleep at night or nap during the day?

TRIP: I like my kennel, nice and cozy in there. But give me a soft bed and I’m in heaven!

SDC: What commands or skills do you know?

TRIP: I can sit and do the basics. I know I’m safe in my kennel. I walk easily on a leash. And I know that outside is my bathroom. I’m an all-around good boy, and I listen most of the time. But if you have more things for me to learn, bring it on! I’m ready and willing to learn whatever my new family wants to teach me !

Do you think you could be Trip’s ideal family? Did we hear a YES? Then hurry and get your application in!

SDC is thrilled to express gratitude for your interest in meeting our March Pup of the Month, the Very Special Tri-Pawed pup… Trip!
