Medical Sponsorship – Jeb

Jeb is German Shepherd mix who was found as a stray and taken in to the rescue by our amazing founder Karen. It took a couple of days to nab him and when she finally did, he was very thin, covered in fleas and hungry.  This wonderful, spunky pup that loves to play and car rides is currently undergoing slow kill treatment for heartworms to save his life. Treatment for heart worms can be ruff on a dog and their owners/rescues. Treatment requires the dog to be strict crate rest to keep their heart from being too stressed. For owners and rescues, heart worm treatment can cost over $1000 per dog!
Will you help us save this boy’s life?

Medical Sponsorship – Kovu

Kovu is a stunning 6yr old German Shepherd/Husky mix in our rescue who is currently with one of our amazing volunteer fosters. This amazing boy is Heartworm positive and requires treatment to save his life. Treatment for heart worms can be ruff on a dog and their owners/rescues. Treatment requires the dog to be strict crate rest to keep their heart from being too stressed. For owners and rescues, heart worm treatment can cost over $1000 per dog!
Backstory: Kovu and his puppies were a severe abuse case. The owners had locked them up in a house for months without food or water. Kovu’s mate was a husky and a husky rescue took her and we took Kovu and his puppies. The puppies have since found their forever homes. Kovu, however, needed more help with human socialization. He has come a long way with his foster.

Picked up as a stray, we don’t know much about his life prior to coming to SDC. This boy has ALOT of energy  who loves to be outside and being petted. He will even nudge your hand with his nose if he feels like you have shorted him on his pets.

Medical Sponsorship – Peanut

Hi! This is Peanut!
He came into rescue as a very young puppy with his mom, Pecan (adopted), in November 2021 after they were found on the streets of Cleveland, TX fending for themselves. He was in really bad shape, covered in fleas and had no hair. After spending the last year and a half getting healthy, we found out he has Bilateral Medial Coronoid disease, aka elbow dysplasia. Of course that means he needs surgery to fix it but it could not be done right away as we had to wait until he was old enough. Well that time has finally come!!  The estimate for the first surgery is about $2500.
His surgery is scheduled for March 10, 2023!!

So young with his whole life waiting on him, can you help us help him?

Medical Sponsorship – Titan Kane

Titan Kane, aka Titan, is a 7 month GSD mix who came to us in early November 2022 after being found as an emaciated stray on the streets of Houston, TX left to fend for himself and try to survive.

Titan is super cute and is  one of the lucky ones who has a family who is waiting to make him a member of their pack. But first he has a MAJOR medical issue that we need to take care of. Titan needs double FHO surgery. FHO, or femoral head ostectomy, is a surgical procedure that aims to restore pain-free mobility to a diseased or damaged hip by removing the head and neck of the femur (the long leg bone or thighbone). This is a major surgery requiring rest and major rehab. Its also super expensive when needed on just one leg. This poor baby needs TWO! The surgeries alone are estimated to be almost $2500 and that is not including any rehab.

So young with his whole life and forever waiting on him, can you help us help him?
