Volunteer of the Month
Cindy Tallant
She missed Mia Lou so much that she didn’t think she could foster again, so she stepped up to help transport. One of her first transports was very difficult on many of the SDC volunteers. She
helped get handsome Blaze to Lumberton on his way to New York, only to have him returned, by no fault of his own, to SDC three days later. Cindy then helped SDC get Blaze to his foster in Sealy. (Side note- Blaze will soon be heading to his forever home after waiting months for the perfect fit.)
In October, Cindy picked up Pecan from boarding in hopes of giving her a “home” experience. After three months, Pecan went to her forever home in January.
During this time, Cindy “stalked” and finally trapped Shadow who is being fostered in the Dallas area. Cindy felt a calling to help foster dogs in boarding so they can have an “in-home” experience, and with help from trainer, Clint, she decided to give LeBron a chance, even though she stated, “no boy
dogs”. LeBron proved her wrong and he has fit in nicely with her two older lady pups. Cindy really wants to see LeBron get adopted. He’s an amazing dog that has been in boarding almost three years which is way too long for such an incredibly sweet, personable, fluffy pup. LeBron is ready for his forever home, thanks to Cindy and her husband.
Sauver Des Chiens would like to thank Cindy for stepping up to help transport our pups, for opening up her home for overnight sleepovers, and for helping some of our long-term boarders experience life in a home. Please
join us in thanking and congratulating Cindy Tallant for being our March 2023 Volunteer of the Month. We are grateful for her big heart and passion to help save the dogs.
SDC Nola at NOLA on TAP
03/18/2023 Lafreniere Park, Metarie, LA
SDC Nola held their first event on Saturday March 18th at the 11th annual NOLA on Tap Beer Festival. NOLA on Tap is the largest beer festival in the region and is put on to benefit the LASPCA! Who doesn’t love dogs and beer? Its the perfect pairing!
SDC was the only breed specific rescue in attendance and we were an absolute hit. Our Nola Director Angela Renee, SDC Alum Sir Chance Le Chien, SDC Krewe member Margie, and SCD Volunteer Emily were in attendance and helped to spread the word about SDC and the amazing things our rescue is doing.
Our team was able to garner interest in our rescue, share what we were about, and promote our dogs that we currently have available for adoption. They were even able to garner over $100 in donations.
“We got a lot of attention!”
“The amount of GSD love was amazing. So many people were coming up just to pet the pups. It was super!”
“I loved seeing the people stopping by and donating”
SDC Houston Event
An Afternoon with Sauver Des Chiens
03/25/2023 Patsy’s Pet Market, Katy, TX
SDC was back at Patsy’s Pet Market in Katy, TX. The event had an amazing turn out including visitors learning about SDC, SDC Alum Scar, Otto, and Sabrina stopping by to say hello and get the advertised pup cup, and SDC foster Pax stopping stopping by to let people know he is available for adoption.

From our Events Coordinator Estrella “We had a great time today at Patsy’s Pet Market. We met great people who were interested in learning about ways to help our rescue. For that we are thankful. ”
Happy Tails March 2023
Happy tails to our March adoptions, Monkey and Wells the Warrior!
Monkey was found by some good samaritans after being dumped at the age of 2 months and they took him in as their own. As Monkey grew up, They realized that they would not be able to care for him like they needed and decided to surrender him to SDC 5 months later. Monkey entered his foster’s home and soon fit RIGHT in. Not only did he fit in at his foster home, but he also fight right in PAWfectly to his foster’s heart and she decided she could not let him go. #FosterFail
Wells the Warrior was abandoned by family after the passing of his owner. Despite neighbors who did their best to help, but he began to shut down both physically and emotionally. He came to the rescue with a bad skin infection and a prostate infection. After some time, healing and love, he began to bounce back. Unfortunately, he then was found to have a bulging disk in his lower back requiring URGENT Surgery. Even while going through that, he found his furever.
