Volunteer of the Month – February 2020

Introducing Sauver Des Chiens Volunteer of the Month:

Congratulations Bella Albarron!

Bella Albarron is being recognized as SDC’s volunteer for February 2020. One fellow volunteer wrote that Bella has taken foster/adoption applications to a whole new level. She’s positive and has the best interest of the dogs at heart She balances it all with a baby literally velcroed to her hip.

Another volunteer stated that Bella is always willing to help anyone. She’s great at coordinating events such as the recent event at Trader’s Village.

SDC’s Founder shares that Bella is by far the best applications coordinator she has ever worked with. Bella is organized, fast paced and thorough. She asks the right questions and questions all the concerns on the applications. She works non-stop to make sure our applications are processed, and home visits are complete. Sauver Des Chiens is very grateful for all Bella’s compassion, and for the fantastic team she has put together and commands. We love her.

Although Bella was born in Buffalo, NY, she was raised in Texas. She is currently a stay at home mom to an amazing one-year old named Archer. She owns a Pomeranian named Niko. She was involved in Citizens for Animal Protection while in High School. SDC is the first dog rescue group she’s volunteered for. Bella’s in-laws, Max and Blanca Robles, SDC volunteers themselves, got Bella involved in the rescue group. Her first event to participate in was the Doggy Parade in City Centre. Bella officially joined SDC in June 2019 as the Applications Coordinator. She says, “I love what I do because I can help these wonderful dogs find the best family for them based on the applications! I enjoy talking with the applicants when I can and learn a bit about them and what they are looking for in a dog. My least favorite thing would be when we lose a dog to sickness or injuries.”

Bella enjoys making crafts especially if it’s for the rescue. She created the SDC Adoptable Dogs binder as well as the kissing booth for a February adoption event. She’s learned a lot more about Shepherds since joining this group. She’s also learned how incredibly hard everyone works behind the scenes to make SDC stand! She’s incredibly grateful for the friends she’s made and the memories she has, as well as the knowledge learned from joining this rescue. Her advice would definitely be “Do what you love, do what makes you happy.”

SDC volunteers please be aware if you’re planning a dog treat baking night like Beth did. Bella and Laura might show up late after scaring your neighbors with scissors and other baking equipment in their hands. Not only that, they will make an absolute mess of the cookies which Claire will have to save. “Long story short, we came late and made a mess!” Thank you, Bella, from the bottom of all our SDC hearts, you are loved and appreciated!!!
